I’d like to argue that with you
knowing the signs of a cyber bullying situation, you will more likely be able
to prevent the situation from occurring. Therefore, I’d research the signs and
some ways of preventing cyber bullying in order to better understand it. I’d
also research certain websites and places in which cyber bullying commonly
occurs. Social websites, Facebook, Twitter, and MySpace, are three common sites
that I would put most focus on. I’d research past cyber bullying situations and
see at what site it started at and then I would compare each situation from
past to present.
I’d research past cyber bullying
statistics to see how by knowing how to catch the signs help to prevent cyber
bullying. I’d compare those statistics to those who don’t know that someone is
being bullied, to better prove that knowing the signs helps better prevent the
situation from occurring. I’d also research on the most common victims, like
adults, teenagers, or children. I’d check on specific examples of victims and
bullies from possible interviews or reports. I’d also check to see if there
were any reports of suicides or deaths of victims of cyber bullying.
Punishment to cyber bullies could also be
researched, because it’s important if we want cyber bullying to stop.
Therefore, I’d research certain laws and maybe past situations to see how the cyber
bullies were punished. I’d research how cyber bullying compares to any other
bullying situation. I’d also research the school districts and areas that cyber
bullying commonly occur. This way I can describe how an environment affects
people’s behavior making them more likely to become a cyber bully. There is
actually much to be researched on about cyber bullying, but I’d like to just put
primary focus around ways of preventing it.
